Luke McKaye Hardflip Sequence Shot By Luke McKaye

I have a remote triggering system that I sometimes use with my 7D to take skateboarding sequences while shooting a still with remote flashes and another camera. The thought of shooting a trick of myself had crossed my mind, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to actually try it out. It was more difficult than I anticipated to hold the remote in my hand with the shutter button held for the roll up, pop and catch, and roll away. If you look close you can see the remote in my right hand.

Mike Steinkamp Torx Ad

Thrasher Magazine
Tork Trux Ad

I was really excited to shoot this photo for Tork Trux. Mike Steinkamp is a good friend of mine, and it’s always a pleasure to work with him. I shot this with a 50mm 1.4 lens and one off camera flash for fill. On the other side of this wall was a busy highway, it was kind of scary to watch Mike jump up there and balance himself in between attempts.
